Neurotango©

The neurological diseases indexed here, such as Parkinson's, MS, Alzheimer's and dementia, are degenerative. This means that an unstoppable degradation of neurons takes place through different triggers and causes in the brain.

Not only a loss of memory, but also a limitation of mobility (motor activity) are affected.

The fight against these progressive diseases can currently not be stopped, but a slowing down through a corresponding way of life is possible. The use of Tango Therapy was observed to even lead to sporadic improvements and declining processes as far as the reduction of prescribed doses of medication.

We noticed the greatest effectiveness in the case of
Parkinson's disease,  multiple sclerosis, incipient dementia and Alzheimer's as well as depression. Here we explicitly point out that Tango Therapy is not a cure, but invariably an improvement and/or slowing of disease progression was observed in the individuals so far treated.

Success of Tango Therapy for neurological disorders
Although individuals naturally vary in their response to Tango T
herapy, we recorded the following progress with participants in the last 24 months:

- no 'freezing' during movement
- backward movement was made possible
- rotational movements of hip and pelvis
- increased wellbeing by an average of 2 points on a scale of 1 - 10
- Increased mobility right after training by 2 points on a scale of 1 - 10
- inner relief and even smiles from people with depression
- energy boost for several hours in people with apathetic appearance before the course
- more fluid movement when walking
- improved gait initiation with obstacles such as doors of public transport
- more upright gait, improved voice and better general condition

Concept Neurotango©

Concept for improving motor skills, psyche and mental abilities, which has been developed from elements of Argentine Tango.

It is a chronologically structured design which links the mental and motor exercises and additionally creates auditory/musical stimuli to stimulate the emotional half of the brain. Some exercises also stimulate the logical half of the brain through counting and mathematical tasks in parallel.
The tools of tango used in combination (tango tools) in this concept are:

- music
- dissociative movements

- spatial orientation

- balance

- walking straight in different directions (forward, backward, sideways)

- clock impulses for walking and pausing

- multitasking (walking, counting, remembering steps, spatial orientation, leading,
- musicality)
- breathing technique
- dynamics (step size, speed, intensity/emphasis)

The exercises which were developed with the help of these tools are intended to set up, develop and maintain motor and cognitive skills while relieving low mood and even depressive tendencies.
All exercises should be fun for the participants and especially not create situations of their being overwhelmed.

The exercises are designed to provide cognitive, motor and sensory stimuli.

In addition, all exercises have a social component: exercise with a partner and exchange within the group.
